I like you, you're different.

So my sister gave me fabric markers for Christmas. Which are pretty awesome, though I want more colours, like black for instance :)

This is what I made so far. Pretty decent for a first attempt I would say.

Inspiration shot, taken in Museum of Natural History, New York last summer during my stay there.
I also used this random Japanese website that (as far as I understand) has stylized images of a whole bunch of different kinds of birds, to get the general shape of my birds since Magic Markers don't exactly allow for a lot of "artistic" expression as far as blending and shading go.

Decemberists - "The King is Dead" Album

So, in case I havent mentioned I'm a big Decemberists' fan. I can't pin point why exactly, but I just do. In commemoration to that amazing logic I wanted to share their latest album called "The King is Dead". I'm going to be going to their concert on February 1st when they come to Toronto :) so I'm pretty excited for the entire thing.

Listen to them HERE. (I wish I was better at this so I can actually link the player onto here, but sadly I'm not that pro yet)

Mr. Jones Watches - "Always on my mind"

So before my favourite-watches/watches-I'm-"saving"-to-get used to be these ones. Now I'm almost willing to scap them all for the sake of having the "Always on my mind" watch. It's a similar set up as the "Accurate" that spelled out "Remember you will die" (which I still love to bits, but I'm starting to see that it can be taken the wrong way...even though I still think it would keep me super motivated on life).

This one however I'm not gonna get for myself. It would lose meaning that way. I need to wait till someone special gets enough of a brain to read my blog and thus get awesome gift ideas :P

Etsy Rings

I love my rings and have quiet a number of vintage silver and gold ones from my moms youth. Over 10 in fact. However I want big sparkly costume jewelry and I have the hardest time finding ones I like. The ones that I like at the typical stores end up rusting or breaking within a few weeks and more expensive ones never seem worth while, since it is just costume jewelry. However I'm starting to change my opinion there, mostly thanks to a couple really pretty rings I found on Etsy. I've been on the site before but never had anything really grab my attention, but recently with all the Christmas shopping I figured I should take a closer look. And I found these:

Conic Quartz Ring.

And it's only 78$ which works out pretty fairly when you consider that its real gold, silver and crystals.

The One Big Pearl Ring. This one is 64$ and really cute. It was the first one I saw.

I don't know when I'll get around to getting them, or least the pearl one. Maybe when my OSAP comes through :P

FINSK 252-98

I am starting my Birthday wishlist WAY early and the first thing I NEED are these shoes! They are gourgeous. I promise that if I can somehow scape together the extras in my student budget and spend the 500+ on them then I will make it worth while. I will wear them everyday, to every occasion and with great care so they can last for ages :)

Aren't they just amazing? Check out Solestruck.com to order them online.
