Gave in and Bought myself a Polaroid :)

Found this though Etsy in a "shop" called 8bits seeling a while bunch of different vintage polaroids (in case anyone is intrested)

This is one of the later vintage models polaroid released. It gives you the same great anitque image, with much more "high tech" features than previous models.

Everything works great, built in flash that offers a "lighter", or "darker" setting, depending on how strong you want the flash to go off. Also offers a nice "Depth of Field" function. with two variable settings (2-4 ft., and 4ft-infinity).

HOWEVER there is one problem, and that is that Polaroid no longer makes the traditional 600 film for these things. Thank god for Project Impossible

Online Shopping is Addictive! -Tiny Initial Necklace by ANNE KIEL

Anne Kiel Jewelry (on Etsy) has some super delicate and personalized items. All real silver or gold too, so they are meant to last. I personally really like this one:

This adorable necklace makes a great personalized gift!
The 14k gold vermeil charm is stamped with an itty-bitty letter and comes with a lovely, 18" 14k goldfill cable chain.
The sandblasted sterling charm is stamped with an itty-bitty letter and comes with a lovely, 18" super-fine, sterling cable chain.
The circle component of the charm is ~9mm.

I'm restraining from getting it because buying myself an initial just seems a bit pathetic. *sigh* It's really cute though :(

Metsa - Cement Pearls

These cement earrings are modeled on classic pearl studs. Each concrete sphere is cast by hand and set onto a sterling silver post. With wear, the colour of the earrings will deepen as the concrete is exposed to the air and the oils from your skin.

I don't know how much I would actually want to wear cement on my ears, seems a bit crude but the idea is pretty interesting :) (plus they are made right here in Toronto, Canada)

If you want a pair, or wanna see some other cool designs check out METSA.

Jelly Belly Gel Cell Phone Cases

Jelly Belly makes scented gel cases for certain phones (iPhones and BlackBerrys mostly). They come in a bunch of flavors and they are guaranteed to keep their scent for at least a year. You get a warranty and everything.
From Foreground to Background the flavors are: Very Cherry, Strawberry Cheesecake, Blueberry, Berry Blue, and Licorice

One of my friends has one of these and I'm amazed it has kept its scent so far. I'm thinking of getting one too now.

SuperStudio's Faceted Icon

This is the major inspiration I am using for my project in Design Studio this semester.

It is called Faceted Icon and I found it on a blog called SuperStudio.

The Hammer is Really Coming Down on Cigarette Companies

But at least the designers at Build did it with style :P

This is one response to BBC News' Article on the Governments plans to ban the current cigarette packaging in favor of a plain unified package for all brands. I love my smokes, so obviously I would hate this, but somehow, this design is appealing too :P Maybe it won't be so bad :)

I think this speaks for itself.

DIY Life Calendar from Etsy

The 365 days are represented by an emoticon that you have to draw as the day has gone (very good, good, regular, bad, very bad).

Notice: This calendar is not for any specific year. You can start it when you want! When starting a new year, an anniversary, an important date or the day that you prefer :)

So I'm buying this! RIGHT NOW.
Its fairly cheap ( the shipping is almost the same as the price of the poster) And it would be interesting to look back on significant days like anniversaries, birthdays etc. and figure out how I felt like in the moment and not how I've colored the day to be in my memory.

New Starbucks Logo

So I'm a big starbucks fan. It was just always the place to go for coffee and now I'm hooked. There has been a lot of hipe aorund about the new logo. Personally I haven't seen one around yet, but by March I know they will make it up here too :P From What I've seen online, they seem pretty cool and are supposed to save shit loads of ink in printing since there is only green ink now. Overall not a bad change.
Lets just hope this doesn't happen to it.

Ewha Womans University Campus Center Project

Ewha Womans University Campus Center Project.  Seoul, Korea 2004-08

By Dominique Perrault, a fairly young french architect. Check out the website HERE.

This is one of the more exciting and innovative designs out there now that ACTUALLY got build. Usually things like this are a bit too radical to be realized.
