Final Model for Studio Project

This was my final model design for Marina Abromovic's studio space, "The Den":

Barcelona Chairs

Blip about these amazingly comfy chairs (or so I've been told, I don't know myself because I've only sat in imitations) that I found on Eternity Modern:
One of the most recognizable and enduring designs of the 20 th century. It was originally designed by Mies Van der Rohe in 1929 to serve as seating for the king and queen of Spain at the International Exposition in Barcelona hence its name. The ottomans were intended as seating for their servants. The set features a polished solid-core 301 stainless steel frame for maximum strength. The cushions are upholstered in 100% genuine Italian Leather.

They feature them in the Architecture firm shown at the end of 500 Days of Summer :) That's where I first saw them. And after that I started noticing them everywhere. Though they are usually imitations with different legs. I like knowing that an Architect designed them. Shows that there is more then just buildings to my career path :P

Double House in Danderyd by Tham & Videgard Arkitekter

This is a house I stumbled upon while looking for case studies. And the window style and layout really stuck with me.
"A house organized as a spiralling sequence of four large rooms in four levels. These large spaces without a fixed hierarchy invite the inhabitants to organise their lives following their own preferences."
Tham & Videgard Arkitekter are involved in some very interesting things. Always very inspiring :)

NEOCUBE

A good friend of mine bought this little "puzzle" recently. After he already exhausted the 3 row, 4 row AND 5row Rubik's cube -___- It's basically a bunch of magnets that you can re arrange into all kinds of patterns. Pretty fun.

Here is a blip I lifted of their website:
The NeoCube is an entertainment device like no other in the world.
Composed of 216 individual high-energy rare-earth magnets, the NeoCube allows you to create and recreate an outrageous number of shapes and patterns.
Your NeoCube will provide you with hours and hours of unequaled entertainment!
The NeoCube Alpha is perfect for gaming, expression, stress relief, dual hemispherical brain stimulation and much more.
The NeoCube Is literally a puzzle with billions of solutions.

Best way to describe one of these is: A good waste of time.
They are addictive :) and sorta educational...sorta.

Ace of Cakes

The more I look at them, the more amazing they look. Not always very "real" looking, and sometime confusing :P but still pretty freaking awesome for cakes.

The shops website is HERE if you want to check out more of their stuff :)

Collage Painting found in Urban Outfitters, downtown Toronto :)

Interesting rendering type...I might try something similar :P

Damn Heels

I found a pair of "Damn Heels" flats at the Clothing Show in Toronto this past weekend. They were 20$ and I ended up using them the same day. Basically you get a leather pouch with ballerina flats folded up inside, and when your heels kill, you can unfold the pouch into a bag to put the heels in while you slip on the flats.

Founded by Hailey Coleman, Damn Heels is dedicated to saving women from their (beloved) damn heels.

After one excruciatingly painful, hour-long post-party walk home in London, England, Hailey decided that walking the streets barefoot was a faux pas that could – and needed – to be prevented.

“We adore our heels, and we’ll certainly never stop wearing them. But they should never stop a woman from dancing till dawn."

I appreciate the inovation...except for the part that it's not very original yet she is getting awards FOR being ORIGINAl.... In reality the same idea has been done before by Matt Horan, read more about it here.
